“The wirework headdresses and yokes for the Kryptonian Council Members were especially fascinating to build. In mapping out the design patterns, my partner, Joseph Collins, and I would use either one of two methods —Molded buckram with design tape overlay, and/or steel armature wire mockups. This enabled the designer(s), James Acheson and Michael Wilkinson, to view proportion, line, and fit before it went on to the time-consuming step of spring steel wire welding. Each of the 5 ensembles was unique. Working according to the mock-ups, Nancy Tarzinski welded the pieces together, and after approval, they were embellished by our specialty team.” –SL
